What is veraison?
In the vineyard, veraison corresponds to an important stage in the development of the grapes. The berries begin to change color: the red grapes gradually become tinted, while the white grapes become more translucent and golden.
This transformation announces the approach of the grapes' maturity and marks a symbolic moment in the cycle of the vine.
In Châteauneuf-du-Pape, this period is celebrated every summer through a major popular festival combining the world of wine, the history of the village and the atmosphere of the Middle Ages.
