Fête de la Véraison 2026 in Châteauneuf-du-Pape: a look back

The 2026 Fête de la Véraison took place in Châteauneuf-du-Pape from July 31 to August 2, 2026. This summer event brings together wine, village history and a medieval atmosphere at the heart of the appellation.

What is véraison?

In the vineyard, véraison is the stage when grapes begin to change colour. Red berries gradually develop their colour while white grapes become more translucent. It marks the beginning of the ripening phase.

The 2026 edition

The village programme included processions around Pope Clement VI and his court, medieval camps and entertainment, shows, music and opportunities to discover the wines of the appellation. For future editions, schedules, prices and activities may change, so the official tourist office programme remains the best reference before travelling.
