A remarkable 2022 vintage: generous, elegant and deeply Provençal.
Domaine André Mathieu’s 2022 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Tradition Red comes from 9 hectares spread across several terroirs of the appellation. This emblematic cuvée brings together all 13 authorised grape varieties, led by Grenache, to express the full richness and complexity of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
Traditional vinification with a long maceration is followed by 12–14 months of ageing in old large oak casks. The wine develops beautiful depth, silky tannins and precise fruit expression. Designed to reach its balance after 4–6 years of cellaring, the 2022 vintage already offers a particularly harmonious profile.
Tasting Profile
The bright, clear ruby colour opens onto an intense nose of blackberry, raspberry, garrigue, dried rose and liquorice. The palate is ample, smooth and concentrated, with ripe-fruit and spice aromas. The finish is long, persistent and delicately peppery.
Food Pairings
Ideal with rib steak, roast meat, leg of lamb, feathered game, slow-cooked dishes or mature cheeses.
