Vacqueyras is the kind of appellation wine lovers discover and keep returning to. Located between Gigondas and Châteauneuf-du-Pape, it produces powerful yet elegant reds at prices that remain approachable. Domaine Grand-Père Jules’ 2021, from a sunny and concentrated vintage, is a fine expression of the Provençal terroir.
In the glass, it shows a deep garnet colour and intense aromas of dark fruit, black olive, garrigue and leather. The palate is dense and warm, with present but well-integrated tannins and a long, spicy finish. A characterful red that develops beautifully over 5 to 8 years.
